Vintage Ad Friday – Blum’s Candy

Courtesy of Vintage Ad Browser

Blum’s was an old-fashioned corner candy store in San Francisco until proprietor, Fred Levy decided to make some changes. The results were candy bars in the drug store and boxes of candy for your sweetheart. He did understand that the old-fashioned feeling was important. Most who entered the San Francisco store wouldn’t have guessed at the work and marketing going on behind the scenes. Among Blum’s customers were Eisenhower and Lauren Bacall. As for me I was drawn to this ad because of the picture. I was charmed by the glamour and style.
