Let’s Not Save the Best

This post on Miss Mustard Seed reminded me of a story I read in one of those Chicken Soup books years ago. A woman was setting the table for supper with her best china when a friend stopped by unexpectedly. She noticed the dishes and exclaimed, “Oh, you must be expecting company.” But, the woman was setting the table for her family. She was showing her love for those dearest to her by setting a lovely, special table. Why do we save the best? Why not use the good dishes more often and make any day special?
