On My Honor. . . . .

On this day in 1915 the Girl Scouts were incorporated in Washington D.C. I was a Brownie Scout for several years and have many fond memories of scouting. However, in preparing this post I found there was still much to learn.

Here is a little video about Juliette Low, founder of the Girl Scouts.

The Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

Finally for more information about Girl Scouts visit their Official Site. Also, you must check out the Vintage Girl Scout Online Museum. This place is loads of fun and full of cool stuff!

Before I go I thought I’d share a little of my own past. These are my Girl Scout patches.

I believe that the Girl Scouts is a very worthwhile organization and I hope to see it grow far into the future!
