A little Halloween Goodness

We’ve been working on our Halloween decorations this week and I just couldn’t wait to share a few pictures!

Highlights from Etsy

One day while perusing the World Wide Web I discovered the most delightful Etsy shop. Love to Party is brimming with brightly colored, gorgeous party supplies. There are cupcake kits, cupcake toppers, straws, candles, and all sorts of goodies. I especially loved the tiara cupcake toppers (perfect for my littlest niece) and my nephew would love the cowboy cupcake kit. I fell instantly in love with so many of the kits that I couldn’t possibly choose a favorite. This shop is the perfect place to visit when planning a party!

Dress Up Fun!

Saturday, April 9 arrived and with it our annual Renaissance Faire Trek.  We pick one weekend and visit the Four Winds Renaissance Faire in Troupe, TX.  We love dressing up, leaving behind most of the electronics (one must have a cell phone) and enjoying a day out.  We always watch the jousting and this year we also saw the belly dancers.  We ate Shepherd’s Pie and Fried Pretzels and visited all the little shops and booths.  My favorite visit this year was at the weaver’s little shop.  She had her loom set up and her so many pretties for sale.  She had some beautiful shawls and capes.  Unfortunately they were a little out of my price range.  I did purchase a little bag and two sweet little sheep, though.

Lovely Halloween Masks

I just love these masks from Bag and Baby.  They are beautiful works of art and make me think of the masked balls I read about, not to mention my sweetie’s marriage proposal.  We were in attendance at a ball at a Renaissance Faire when he declared his love, dropped to one knee and popped the question!   Stop by and get yours today!  With an air of romance and just the right amount of spooky, they are perfect for your Halloween festivities!

One of My Favorite Catalogs

If you like vintage and retro goodies, then you must pay visit to Betty’s Attic. Their website is as much fun as their catalogs. Both are chocked full of all kinds of goodies.

A Visit

Today my mom, sister, niece, and nephews came to visit. We had a blast catching up and playing.

Kyleigh and her momma!

One cool nephew!

I bought this headband and wore it to my aunt’s house on the 4th. I thought is was funny and silly. Kyleigh just loved it. She wore this all day! Isn’t she just the cutest?!

Kane and his grammie are quite a pair!

These glasses go on a teddy bear I made at a Build-a-Bear workshop in Florida several years ago. Kyleigh decided that they were just right!

This Valentine Tweety sings and dances.  Kyleigh was having a blast with him.  I kept trying to get a pic of her looking at Tweety and she continued to look at the camera and for some reason so did Tweety.  Ah well, it still made for an adorable photo.

Yearbook Yourself!

I just found this great website courtesy of my cousin and the wonders of facebook. It is called Yearbook Yourself and is loads of fun!

Really and truly just too much fun!

Coffee & a Good Book

This past week my husband and I went to Sallisaw and did a little camping. We visited my aunt and uncle in Poteau and my dad who lives in Van Buren. We had a lovely time visiting and shopping. My husband was thrilled to find and visit Stringtown Yarn & Fiber and find a barbershop that offers straight razor shaves. I was delighted to find a sweet, cozy little bookshop called Coffee & a Good Book. This little shop found a way to combine my favorite things in one adorable shop. There is coffee, tea, Italian sodas, and sweets, all sorts of pretty vintage goodies, and used books galore. Some of the books are vintage and some newer used books. I was in heaven. The shop owner was kind enough to allow me to take some pictures which I am pleased and excited to share with all of you!

This first shot was taken from the front door. I was immediately charmed upon entering.

I just love this little children’s corner. Isn’t it sweet?

This is such a wonderful way to showcase cookbooks.

This is one of my favorite parts of the shop!

I love this little shop. The owners and workers are friendly, they have a variety of books, and lots of eye candy. If you are ever near Van Buren, Arkansas take a little time to go downtown and visit this used book/vintage paradise.
